Route details

Day 1
Pokhara - Sinuwa

The day starts with an early morning drive from Pokhara toward the trailhead. The route passes through rural landscapes, with the first views of the Annapurna range appearing along the way.

The trek begins in Siwai and follows the Modi Khola River, offering a gradual and comfortable start. The trail then climbs toward Chhomrong, one of the largest Gurung villages in the area, where clear views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre can be seen.

From Chhomrong, the path descends steeply to cross the Chhomrong Khola on a suspension bridge. The final section of the day involves a steady ascent through rhododendron and bamboo forests, leading to Sinuwa, where you stop for the night.

During the trek, you will stay in simple and clean tea houses that provide adequate comfort for a restful night. Rooms typically have down or triple beds with blankets, and toilet facilities are shared (Western style). Most lodges feature a warm dining area where you can relax after a day on the trail.

Wi-Fi is available at many teahouses, or you can use a local SIM card (NTC or NCELL) for connectivity. Hot showers are offered at some lodges, and fresh spring water is available to refill your bottles along the route.

Personal equipment you need for the tour

A smart packing list will make your trek easier. You can leave extra bags at your hotel in Pokhara after the trek and collect them when you return.

Packing List 

The packing list may vary depending on whether you hire a porter. If you have a porter, they will carry your main backpack. If you don’t, you can use a duffel bag to store most of your items.

If you plan to carry all your belongings yourself, pack carefully and efficiently.
