Jordan Active Explorer: Hikes, Canyons & Coral

After breakfast in Amman, travel south toward Wadi Mujib, enjoying scenic views over the Dead Sea along the way. Upon arrival, set off on the self-guided Siq Trail—an exciting 2–3 hour adventure through a dramatic sandstone gorge.

Following the river upstream, the route involves swimming, climbing, splashing, and hiking toward a powerful waterfall, with seasonal pools deep enough for swimming. Life jackets are provided for safety throughout the hike.

After time to change and relax, continue to Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a quieter archaeological site once used by ancient traders along the Silk Road. The day ends with an overnight stay at a nearby Bedouin camp.

Overnight: Bedouin Camp at Little Petra

The day begins with a scenic hike into Petra via the lesser-known “Back Door” route, allowing you to experience the ancient Nabataean city away from the main crowds. The trail descends through Wadi Ghurab and follows an old Nabataean path, gradually leading across a natural rock terrace high above the surrounding valleys.

As the route reaches a hidden plateau, the Monastery suddenly appears—one of Petra’s most impressive monuments. After time to rest and enjoy the views, the walk continues down Nabataean steps into the heart of the archaeological site.

From here, the path leads through Petra’s main area, passing rock-cut tombs, temples, a Roman-style theater, and the colonnaded street before reaching the iconic Treasury. The visit concludes with a walk through the narrow Siq, after which the journey continues toward the desert landscapes of Wadi Rum for an overnight stay.

Overnight: Bedouin Camp at Wadi Rum

Breakfast is served at the camp at 7:00 AM, followed by an exciting two-hour Jeep tour through the desert. This adventure takes you to some of Wadi Rum’s most iconic and scenic locations, offering plenty of opportunities for photos and exploration.

After the Jeep tour, travel to Aqaba (about a one-hour drive) to embark on a scenic boat trip. Here, you can swim and snorkel directly from the boat, discovering vibrant coral reefs and a rich variety of tropical marine life. Panoramic views of Jordan, Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia make this experience even more memorable.

Lunch will be served either on board or shortly after the boat ride, depending on the schedule.

Overnight: Aqaba

After an early breakfast, the journey continues north to the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Here, you can float effortlessly in the salty waters, try the famous mineral-rich mud, relax by the pool, or enjoy spa treatments—an ideal way to unwind at the end of the trip.

In the evening, the group boards the bus for the final drive back to Amman, concluding the adventure.

Overnight: Amman

On the final day of the tour, guests will check out from their accommodation after breakfast and transfer to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. For international flights, it is generally recommended to allow at least four hours to reach the airport and complete check-in procedures.
