Route details

The hike begins at Changunarayan Temple in the early morning, one of the oldest Hindu temples in the Kathmandu Valley and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring the temple complex, the trail leads through traditional villages and terraced farmland toward Telkot, offering views of rural landscapes along the way. Arrival in Telkot is around 12:30 pm.


Lunch in Telkot (packed lunch or a local restaurant). At approximately 1:30 pm, continue the hike along the Telkot–Nagarkot trail, passing forested paths and viewpoints overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. The route gradually ascends toward Nagarkot, with changing scenery throughout the walk.


Arrive in Nagarkot around 4:30 pm. Time to visit the Nagarkot viewpoint, known for its panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including Langtang and, on clear days, Mount Everest. After enjoying the sunset views, begin the descent or transfer as planned, marking the end of the day excursion.
