This multi-day adventure takes you through some of Jordan’s most iconic landscapes, connecting two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Petra and Wadi Rum. It offers a deep experience of the country’s natural beauty and desert wilderness.

The trek leads from the dramatic cliffs and valleys near Petra, through high-elevation desert, narrow gorges, colorful canyons, and sweeping sand dunes, before reaching the majestic sandstone mountains of Wadi Rum. Along the way, you’ll encounter historic Nabatean carvings, remote Bedouin villages, and expansive desert vistas.

Following wadi paths and old donkey tracks, you’ll move at a steady pace through varied terrain, with comfortable wilderness camps each night and opportunities for Jeep excursions and sunset views. The journey combines active exploration with immersive moments in nature, creating a true sense of the remote desert landscape.

Day 1
Petra - Ga’a Mriebed

The day begins at 7:45 am near the Bdoul village. We follow a scenic trail that descends toward the main tourist route, stopping along the way to explore the quiet and atmospheric Sabra Amphitheater, a lesser-known site away from the crowds.

From here, the hike continues south through the wadi, with wide-open views and a mostly downhill route. By the end of the day, we arrive in the open landscapes of Ga’a Mriebed, where the terrain gradually opens up and the pace becomes more relaxed.

This is a demanding 6-day trek with daily distances ranging from 12 to over 23 km (7.5–14+ miles), and hiking times of approximately 3–8 hours per day.

Days 1 and 5 are the most challenging, each exceeding 22 km, which is why this itinerary is rated at our highest difficulty level: Extreme.

A good level of physical fitness is essential to fully enjoy the experience.

Wilderness Camp

The local Bedouin support team sets up the campsite during the day, so everything is ready upon arrival. Guests can relax and enjoy tea before dinner, when a freshly prepared local meal is served.

All single travelers are provided with their own tent for free. Each tent is equipped with a foam mattress, pillows, sheets, and blankets, so sleeping bags are optional and mainly recommended for the winter season. Please note that sleeping bags are not supplied for hygiene reasons. A shower tent and a bathroom tent are also available.

The wilderness camps offer a peaceful escape from everyday life, scenic views, attentive service, and memorable dinners.
