Experience a week among the wild landscapes and jagged peaks of the Accursed Mountains, spanning Albania and Montenegro. Starting from Shkodra, the journey begins with a scenic boat ride across the fjord-like Komani Lake into the heart of the Albanian Alps. Trek through the remarkable Valbona Valley and the pristine Gashi River Reserve, reaching the remote summer pasture of Doberdol for a night in traditional shepherd’s huts.
At Mt. Tromedja, where three countries meet, enjoy panoramic views and the sense of hiking beyond borders. Continue into Montenegro’s Prokletije National Park, swim in the serene waters of Lake Hrid, and climb the double peaks of Taljanka and Popadija above the dramatic Grbaja Valley. Follow an ancient path back into Albania, exploring the picturesque village of Theth and learning about the former highland laws of the Kanun. The adventure concludes with a refreshing swim at Nderlysaj’s glacier stone pools and a transfer back to the lively capital, Tirana.
