Europe’s last wild river, Vjosa, flows through southern Albania, shaping the dramatic Zagoria Valley. Trek from doorstep to doorstep through remote, idyllic villages where time seems to stand still. In spring, enjoy panoramas of flower-covered meadows surrounded by snow-capped peaks; in autumn, savor the sweet harvest season.

Follow historic Ottoman stone bridges, visit well-preserved Orthodox churches, and admire medieval frescoes. Refresh in waterfalls and the healing thermal pools, and stay in welcoming homestays, enjoying homemade meals, fresh produce, and fine raki. Discover the history and traditions alive in Gjirokastër, the City of Stone, before ending the journey in the vibrant capital, Tirana.
